Feierabend’s Purifying Cleansing Crème was specifically designed for the needs of those with problem skin. Unlike our Breakout Buster Cleanser, it does not contain Alpha Hydroxy Acids, so it is mild enough to be used by all skin types.

It is an incredibly absorbent, refreshing one-step cleanser. It's packed with vitamins, oils & botanical extracts that will moisturize so as not to destroy your lipid barrier, while activated charcoal deeply cleans all the bacteria away. It works amazingly well for all skin types. Aloe, green tea, white tea and rooibos tea combine to produce a soothing effect on the skin. Rooibos is a powerful player in the team of antioxidants this cleanser brings to your skin. Recently, Japanese scientists found that rooibos tea contains a mimic of the enzyme Super Oxide Dismutase (S.O.D.) which is an antioxidant that attacks the free radicals and limits their damaging effects on the skin. Green and white tea are both powerful antioxidants.

It does not contain the typical surfactants that most cleansers contain. It is composed of oils and fats which are mild and effective cleansing agents. All oils and fats are a mixture of triglycerides with a different fatty acid attached. To further explain, an oil molecule is formed from one glycerin molecule and three fatty acid molecules. All fatty acid molecules are lipophilic and hydrophilic. Lipophilic means that it has a great affinity for oil. Hydrophilic means that it has a great affinity for water.

The hydrophilic molecules are attracted to water which helps the water "wet" the surface to be cleaned, permitting the water to reach more of the surface. With out the "wetting" assistance of the hydrophilic molecules, the product would bead up on the skin and not soak the surface. The lipophilic molecules act like a magnet and are attracted to dirt and oils. They embed into the dirt and remove it. The lipophilic molecules show an affinity toward oil and the molecules squeeze together in an attempt to escape water. The action of the hydrophilic molecules and the lipophilic molecules allows the cleanser to break the surface tension and forces water into the skin, allowing it to and remove the dirt and oils beyond your skin surface.

Directions: Cleanse face in the morning and evening. Splash your face generously with tepid to slightly warm water. Apply a small amount of cleanser onto your clean fingertips. Lather it on your fingertips first and then gently wash face using circular and upward motions. Wash for approximately 30 seconds for dry or sensitive skin, 60 seconds for normal/combination skin and 90 seconds for oily skin. Rinse well with tepid to slightly warm water. Pat (do not rub) face dry with a clean towel. Feierabend’s Purifying Facial Cleansing Crème is ideal for combination, oily, acneic, blemished, dry, sensitive, mature, or normal skin types.

DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMBATING ACNE: Feierabend has a variety of products to combat acne. Acne is one of the most difficult skin conditions to remedy, largely because of the wide variances of individual skin types. Two of our recommended acne products contain alpha hydroxy acids - our Breakout Buster Cleanser & Breakout Buster Toner. While they can be very effective at combating acne, using too many AHA products may cause skin irritation. Additionally, any regular use of products containing AHA's may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun & the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen & limit sun exposure while using AHA products & for a week afterwards.

Since acne is one of the toughest skin condition to solve, it usually requires some experimentation – there simply is no "one-solution-fits-all" regimen for acne. We recommend starting with ONE PRODUCT AT A TIME, only ONCE per day. Start with either our Breakout Buster Cleanser (contains AHA's) or Purifying Cleanser (does NOT contain AHA's).

If after 4 days of once a day cleansing your skin is NOT irritated, GREAT – but STOP cleansing and START using the Breakout Buster Toner – only ONCE a day, following these guidelines: When toning, lightly soak a cotton pad with toner and begin cleaning your skin gently, one small section at a time. Never try using the same toner-soaked cotton pad all over the skin in one single try. Start with your forehead, especially at the hairline where it is most neglected during cleansing. After toning the forehead, look at the cotton pad; if you see makeup or any other discoloration on the cotton, get new cotton and tone the same section again. REPEAT this step until the cotton comes away perfectly white, free of any residue and pore debris. Then start with the next section. Perform this procedure from the hairline all the way to the neck.

If after 4 days of once a day toning your skin is not irritated, GREAT – now you can start using both a cleanser AND the Breakout Buster Toner. Use them both once a day, cleansing first, then toning. If after 30 days of once a day cleansing and toning your skin is still not irritated, GREAT – but at this point you should also be seeing some positive results. If your acne is clearing up, then just keep cleansing and toning, once per day. If your acne isn't clearing up, then start exfoliating your face with our Wildflower Honey Glow once a week after toning. If after 30 days of once a day cleansing and toning and once a week exfoliating your acne still isn't clearing up, email us – and we will discuss several options to advance your acne fighting efforts.
